Grand Nordic - Grand County, Colorado

History: The Grand Nordic Club was founded in 1993 and embraces a mission to serve the Nordic community of Grand County by providing educational, recreational, social, and adventurous opportunities. The Grand Nordic Club is the people’s advocate for cross-country skiing in Grand County. This non-profit club has over 200 members and is always inviting newcomers to join. Membership Benefits: You receive many benefits when you choose to become a member of the Grand Nordic Club. Members receive a discount on a day trail pass at Snow Mountain Ranch Nordic Center. Members also receive deals on merchandise at Snow Mountain Ranch, Icebox Mountain Sports in Fraser, Local Experience in Fraser, Christy Sports in Winter Park, Boulder Nordic Sports, Le Feet Lab in Winter Park, and Colorado Adventure Guides’ avalanche safety courses. In addition, members receive registration discounts to Grand Nordic events, like the annual Ranch 2 Ranch Trek. Every year, Grand Nordic Club provides Free cross country ski lessons for members, typically 2-3 dates at a local Nordic Center. This makes a great opportunity to try out Skate skiing if you’ve only tried Classic skiing and vice versa. The individual and family membership are both great options for basic membership. Membership Dues: Your membership dues enable the Grand Nordic Club to fulfill their mission to promote all aspects of Nordic skiing in Grand County. The Grand Nordic Club uses these funds to provide scholarship funds to Grand County youth. One scholarship fund is used to help offset the costs of school-related cross-country ski programs. Another scholarship fund helps offset the costs of youth training programs. Membership dues also make it possible for the Grand Nordic Club to offer FREE ski lessons each season.
