Grand Nordic’s mission is to promote All Things Nordic in Grand County, Colorado. Bringing together resources in this website, Grand Nordic has compiled all the county has to offer, including World Class Nordic areas, ranches offering groomed Nordic skiing (also called Cross Country Skiing), recreation districts and town recreation departments offering kids lessons, NSCD offering both adaptive and adaptive competitive programs, Colorado Biathlon training and competition, School teams in Middle School and High School, Competition programs for all ages, free skiing in the Center of town and free trails connecting towns for miles across the county or on golf courses.
Grand County Nordic Race Series
Grand County Nordic Ski Racing is putting on six Nordic races, both skate and classic, with long and short course options. There are even kid and family options. By signing up for the race series, you save on the individual race cost.
Three great partner venues will host the events:
- Snow Mountain Ranch in Granby
- Devil’s Thumb Ranch in Tabernash

FREE Kids Friday Lessons • Jan. 20 – February 24, 2023
The Kids Nordic Ski Program on Fridays from January 20th thru February 2023 at YMCA of the Rockies, Snow Mountain Ranch Nordic Center, offers ski instruction for beginners and more accomplished skiers ages 5-10, skiing games, winter nature activities, and ends with a Nordic Ski Festival and prizes for all. Lesson starts at 1pm. No lesson on February 3rd. Pre-registration is REQUIRED. Please arrive 30-45 minutes prior to lessons to get equipment and trail pass which are provided for the duration of the lesson. Classic, skate and never-ever lessons are available with a maximum of 30 students total. Featured Event: Ranch 2 Ranch Trek - February 11 & 12
Nordic Ski from Snow Mountain Ranch to Granby Ranch. This is an untimed event on a marked route, Snow Mountain Ranch trails to Fraser-Granby Trail to Granby Ranch trails. Ski 12 km one way or ski over & back 24 km round-trip. Ski trails are groomed for classic & skate cross country skiing & snowshoeing. Door prizes & Granby Ranch lodging discount available to event registrants. Register online at GrandNordic.org, call 970-887-0547, or register on-site. Cost is $35 for members, $40 for non-members, and $45 starting Fri, Feb. 10th.
