Snow Mountain Ranch Children’s Learn to Ski Program, operated by Grand Nordic: Fridays 1:00-2:30pm. The Kids Nordic Ski Program offers ski instruction for beginners and more accomplished skiers ages 5-10, skiing games, winter nature activities, and ends with a Nordic Ski Festival and prizes for all. The program will be offered starting January 20 ending February 24, 2023, with no classes February 3. Please arrive 30-45 minutes prior to lessons to get equipment and trail pass which are provided for the duration of the lesson. Classic, skate and never-ever lessons are available with a maximum of 25 students total. Call the Nordic Center at 970-887-2152 x 4173 for further information. Pre-registration is REQUIRED ONLINE with Snow Mountain Ranch. Masks and social distancing are required. If feeling sick, please stay home! All events pending current Covid restrictions. Online registration typically opens in early November.

The Grand Lake Nordic Center Kids Ski Lesson Program: All Grand County kids can ski FREE on Fridays with rentals. Call the Nordic Center at 970-627-8008 for more information. There will be several lesson days scheduled after the holidays. Ages 16 and under Lessons, trail pass & rentals are free Pre-registration is required by calling 970.627.8008 Times will be announced. With COVID-19 restrictions, the Kids Program for this season is pending. Please call to confirm.

Cross Country Striders: “Striders” is designed for K-2nd graders for after school skiing. Students will learn both classic and skating techniques through a variety of games and exercises. Transportation and equipment is provided. We will meet outside the FVE gymnasium. Students MUST wear appropriate outdoor clothing including warm, water-proof coat, snow pants, hat, mittens or gloves, neck warmer and warm socks.
Dates: Tuesdays, January 10 – February 28 (see website for program details)
Times: 3:30 – 5:30 PM
Location: Fraser Valley Elementary Gymnasium
Fee: $40 to $45 per person per month
Cross Country Cruisers: 3rd -5th graders join us after school for some outside fun and skiing. Students will learn both classic and skating techniques. Transportation and equipment is provided. We will meet outside the FVE gymnasium. Students MUST wear appropriate WARM outdoor clothing.
Dates: Mondays/Tuesdays, January 9 – March 28 (see website for program details)

Fee: $40/$45 per person per month

Cross Country Cruisers Nordic Club: This fun club will introduce participants to the fundamentals of Nordic skiing, increase skiing endurance, teach responsible equipment care, and encourage FUN for all! Kids in grades 2nd through 5th grade (K—1st graders welcomed, if accompanied by a parent) are invited. Coach Gretta Fosha and Nordic community volunteers will lead this club. No experience is necessary. Please bring a healthy snack, water bottle, warm outdoor clothes, dry, warm gloves, socks and hat. We will be outside, so please dress for the weather! Nordic equipment available for use, for no additional fee. Pre-registration is required by calling the Granby Rec. Dept. at 887-3961 by January 4. We need a minimum of 8 participants!
Dates: Mondays, January 15 – February 12 (see website for program details)
Times: 4:15 – 6:00 PM
Location: Meet at and return to Mrs. Miyauchi’s room at GES; ski at Granby Trails (transportation provided to & from Granby Trails property)
Fee: $45 per person
