Last year Colorado Biathlon Club (CBC) set out to fund and build several new buildings at the biathlon range, including a competition/timing office, warming hut, and storage shed. With your donations, time, and energy, they completed those beautiful structures, and they have helped to make our events significantly more efficient and comfortable.

As part of their ongoing and long-term plans to continue to improve the range, and after careful research, evaluation, and discussions with Snow Mountain Ranch over the past year, the CBC board has decided that adding a vault toilet near the range would have the most benefit for club members and their stewardship of the environment.

The time is also ripe to take advantage of SMR’s support – they have a toilet vendor and model selected (see the new installation by the reservoir), and have also offered to handle the permitting and excavation work in addition to the ongoing maintenance.

This is the most-asked for site improvement item over the years, and one that will immediately improve the user experience for all CBC participants and supporters, current and future.

The full cost is expected to be around $30,000, however the Board has lined up two generous donors who will match CBC donations received by May 1, 2025, up to $15,000. This will allow enough time to order and install the vault toilet this summer, so that it can be in-use for the 2025-26 season.

If you’ve ever wished or made the suggestion for a permanent toilet at the biathlon range, with a door, and a floor, and a roof over your head, please consider making a donation.

If you’ve ever held your liquids for 5 hours because you can’t bear to take off your layers in the cold, please consider making a donation.

If you’ve ever had to leave an event early or arrived late because of biological necessities, please consider making a donation.

You can donate here https://coloradobiathlon.org/donate, or just reach out to CBC and they’ll help facilitate the best method.

Thank you for helping to make this dream come true!
