Colorado Biathlon Club is excited to offer another kids clinic opportunity coming up on Saturday, February 17, taught by Elysha Dyer.  Registration will open at 5:00 this evening and cost is $30.  The clinic will use up to 7 shooting points but the rest of the range will be open for general use at this time.  

This clinic features former Fort Kent Outdoor Center biathlon coach Elysha Dyer and is for biathletes age 16 and younger who have proof of USBA Safety Certification and their own .22 rifle. Participants must be USBA members, provide their own rifle and biathlon approved ammo, and per CBC policy youth attendees must have a parent or responsible adult present.

9-11: Beginners

The morning clinic with Elysha Dyer is designed for beginners being defined as anyone who shoots from a block or is just transitioning to a cuff. Focus: body positioning, talking about what you should see in your sights, breathing, and rebolting. Limit 10 athletes. 

Schedule:
9:00 – 9:20 Zero 
9:20 – 9:45 Range time, working on shooting mechanics 
9:40 – 10:00 ski/reload while range is closed 
10:00 – 10:30 combos skiing laps and coming into the range to shoot 
10:30 – 10:50 relay among the kids 
10:50 – 11:00 clean up 

12-2: Intermediate/Advanced
The afternoon clinic with Elysha Dyer is designed for intermediate to advanced shooters, being defined as anyone who comfortably shoots from a cuff. Focus: range procedure, shooting at elevated heart rate, and race prep for Sunday’s Individual race. Limit 14 athletes.

Schedule: 
12:00 – 12:20 zero 
12:20 – 12:45 talking about the range procedure, coming into a mat. A couple mags of 1 shots, focusing on that first shot and the last shot. 
12:45 – 1:00 ski or reload while the range closes for a bit  
1:00 – 1:30/1:40 combos focusing on coming in w/ heart rate  
1:40 – 2:00 Relay w/ kids
