After a very wet spring and early summer, the biathlon range is finally dried out enough to open for the summer! Note that there will be periodic closures throughout the summer and early fall for construction as they implement range upgrades. The Colorado Biathlon Club will give as much notice as possible, but there may be some last-minute closures.
The same access rules and policies as the last few years will be applied, here is a recap:
- As has been the case for the last several years. Access to the ranch is via JUST Ranch – the Nordic Center/CCO parking area is off limits. Find below maps for parking and route information since it is imperative that everyone do not interfere with CCO activities.
- Everyone must be a current member of both CBC and USBA, and have a USBA Red Book or safety certification to use the biathlon range, as well as a Snow Mountain Ranch membership or day pass.
- The winter mats are not available for use during the summer season, please only shoot off the provided carpets in the hut. Ideally, only use them for prone shooting to keep them from getting muddy, this will help them last longer.
- The range is carry-in, carry-out. Make sure you take all zero paper and any food wrappers with you on the way out.
- Note that there is still some water at the target line, so plan your footwear accordingly.
- Make sure you sign in at the sign-in sheet in the hut.
- Have fun and be safe!
