Just a friendly reminder that NSCD’s Winter Volunteer application is now available for the 2025/2026 ski season.

Please read this document and all emails from the volunteer supervisor so that you can stay informed.
The application process may take about 20 minutes so please complete all the steps below:
Waivers:
Within the application, you will need to complete the following waivers:
- Winter Park IKON waiver
- Move United Liability Waiverat the end of the application process)
Background check:
- For new volunteers, you will receive a link from Sterling Volunteers after your application has been processed. The link will expire within 72 hours, please submit these ASAP so that your application will be processed completely. The cost is around $18.
- For returning volunteers whose background check may have expired, you will receive a link from Sterling Volunteers. See above for details.
Lift Passes:
- Please select if you would like an NSCD Issued ski pass based on your commitment level:
- Gold –10 days commitment after volunteer training – Winter Park Season Pass
- Silver – 5 days commitment after volunteer training – 5 non-transferrable lift passes
- Bronze – assistant to the instructor – 1 lift pass for every 2 days of skiing. These will be available at the NSCD reception desk.
- All volunteers: Please send a headshot photo to jleasure@nscd.org, without ski goggles, glasses, a hat or helmet. Send your Date of Birth too! The file should be less than 5mb and should be cropped so that you are the only person in the photo.
- Also, let me know if you need a nametag with your desired name.
NEW POLICY: Lift Passes will be given out at the NSCD Volunteer Office after you have completed your volunteer orientation/refresher/online training clinics, signed both your waivers, completed your background check, if needed and sent in your picture. NOT when the snow flies or if you have a free day before training begins. DO NOT RETRIEVE PASSES FROM THE GUEST SERVICES COUNTER. (Season Pass office will only distribute Lifetime Passes.)
Scheduling:
Once your application has been processed, you will receive a link to VOLGISTICS which serves as the volunteer scheduling database. All training clinics are posted.

The user id and password are the same as the one you used for the volunteer application. All the volunteer training clinics and volunteer shift times and dates will be located here.
Training:
NEW POLICY: New alpine ski and snowboard volunteers will complete 4 days of training. A portion of the training will be in-person, independent study and on the hill clinics. Please see attached document explaining training clinic requirements, descriptions and dates.
We are offering an in-person orientation / *returning volunteer indoor refresher in Golden at the Jeffco Fairgrounds:
- October 11th, 25th from 9am – 3pm, November 12th from 4:00pm – 8:30pm and November 22nd from 9am – 3pm
- *All returning stand ski volunteers will need to do a ½ day skills check-off on the snow prior to volunteering if you attend the indoor refresher. (This is a condition of our insurance.) Otherwise, returning volunteers may select from a variety of training clinics held at Winter Park.
- *All returning sit ski volunteers will need to do a full day tethering skills check off prior to volunteering if you attend the indoor refresher.
- NEW ADDITIONAL TRAINING will be offered throughout the season. if you would like to pursue more skills, like sit ski, VI or ski bike:
- The new volunteer orientation will count towards 1of your training days.
- For gold level volunteers: an additional 2 days of training will be count towards your volunteer commitment.
- For silver level volunteers: an additional 1 day of training will be count to towards your volunteer commitment.
- Nordic volunteers need to complete 1 day of training. You are welcome to join us for the indoor refresher/new volunteer orientation!
