In case you find yourself with holiday related amnesia, here’s the race announcement for our first sprint/pursuit weekend. If you had been looking for the registration links before, sorry they weren’t on the calendar entries before but you will find them there now.
Hello CBC members!
Registration opens today at 5PM for both the Sprint and Pursuit the weekend of January 17th & 18th. You are free and welcome to register for just the Sprint on Saturday (1/17) or for the Pursuit on Sunday (1/18), but you’re encouraged to join us for the two-day event where your Sprint results influence your starting order for the Pursuit the following day!
- The Sprint consists of three laps and two shooting bouts (prone followed by stand) with an interval start and penalty loops (i.e., extra ski practice!). Your time determines your placement in the starting order for the Pursuit the following day.
- The Pursuit consists of five laps and four shooting bouts (two prone followed by two stand) with penalty loops to get across the finish line the first. If you don’t race in the Sprint, you’ll be seeded behind the racers from Saturday, providing you with an excellent opportunity to showcase your biathlon prowess by overtaking your entire division!
Link to the registration and course maps may be found on the CBC events page.
The CBC will be allotting spaces to National Guard teams at this event, and therefore we will be initially capping CBC registrations to 50 racers. Once National Guard participation is confirmed, additional CBC registrations will potentially be opened up.
National Guard team members: welcome! Please use registration links specific for the National Guard, which should be communicated by Major Loeb.
Registration for both events closes promptly at 5PM on Saturday, 1/10/26. Registration is capped for both races, so don’t delay in signing up! To support our volunteers and ensure the race proceeds smoothly, no late registrations will be accepted.
Many thanks to the volunteers who have agreed to help facilitate this race. We – as always – are still in need of more timers for both event days. Please reach out if you’d like to help!
Please reach out to us directly (please avoid hitting Reply All!) or via info@coloradobiathlon.org with any questions regarding format, distance, registration, etc. Please review recent emails from the CBC regarding this season’s safety certification updates.
Your CBC comp chiefs,
Brent & Pat
