Grand County Colorado has the longest continuously running National Public Lands Day (NPLD) in the country. 2026 is our 32nd year! We invite you to join us on one of the various projects that are being hosted across our county. There is a project for almost every area of interest and skill level. At the end of the day, bring your family and friends to the NPLD celebration at the Rendezvous Event Center in Winter Park beginning at 4:30pm. There will be live music, a beer garden, informational booths and giveaways. You do not need to volunteer on a project to join the end of day celebration. We would love it if you put the word out to all lovers of public lands to come join us! Sign up for volunteer projects here.
Join us on September 27, 2025 to celebrate National Public Lands Day! Since 1994, this annual event on the fourth Saturday of September has been the nation’s largest single-day volunteer effort. Last year, over 130 National Parks hosted events with 7,600 volunteers donating an impressive 41,500 hours of service.
Plus – “Weathered, Inside the LA Firestorm” with a discussion panel in the Rendezvous Center Green Room from 3-5pm. Enjoy free live music by Joe R and the Icebox Sound at 5:30pm with fun for all at the Rendezvous Event Center from 4:30-7pm.
Did you know that Winter Park and Fraser is now designated as a “Gateway community to the Continental Divide Trail”? Join us for the designated ribbon cutting celebration and photo op during National Public Lands Day on Saturday, September 27 at 6:00pm at the Rendezvous Event Center. More here.
