The Ski for Light event is at Snow Mountain Ranch on February 1-8, 2026. They are looking for volunteers for the event and need commitments now in order to accept all the visually-impaired skiers who register. They need people to help out on Sunday, Feb 1, 2026. There will be 3 buses traveling from DIA with Visually-impaired skiers and sighted guides arriving at Snow Mountain Ranch (SMR) in the afternoon.
They are looking for volunteers to help accompany the visually-impaired skiers from check-in at Indian Peaks to their rooms. Most will be housed in Indian Peaks, which means just a short walk to find the room. Some will be in either Aspen Brook or Silver Sage. These individuals will definitely require assistance walking to their rooms.
Would you be able to volunteer for a couple of hours to help Ski for Light (SFL) with this task? It would be so appreciated!
If you or your friends would be interested in becoming an SFL Guide, please let them know! They cannot accept all the visually-impaired skiers who have registered until they have a matching number of sighted guides, as they are paired one – to – one.
They are also looking for volunteers to be Dog Walkers for the Guide Dogs which accompany a few dozen of their skiers. This would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you for any assistance you can provide to their organization!
To volunteer, email Karen Ishibashi.
