Volunteers needed for Ski for Light, Snow Mountain Ranch Feb 1-8 2026
Ski for Light International is looking for volunteers to assist in a variety of roles. Here are a few:
a) Greeters: on Sun Feb 1, 2026. You will be assisting a visually-impaired skier from the registration area in Indian Peaks to their room.
b) Dog walker: about 25 skiers will be accompanied by their Guide Dogs. These dogs will not ski, so need to be walked a couple of times each day. This task is Mon – Sat, at your convenience. A coordinator will set up a schedule.
c) Race Course Marshall: a 10k race will be held on Sat Feb 7. We need several people stationed at strategic points along the race course to help if needed.
d). Race Course set up: on Friday Feb 6 (or earlier), directional and distance signs will be posted along the race course.
e) Apres-ski sessions: These are interest sessions given by members of Ski for Light. We may need assistance getting skiers to these various meeting rooms. This will be Tues-Thurs, late afternoon.
If you have time to volunteer in any of the roles listed above, your assistance will be greatly appreciated!

Interested in Ski for Light Guide Training?
A day before the official Ski for Light event begins, an all day Guide Training session is offered to all Ski for Light 1st year and 2nd year guides. This year we are opening up the training to any experienced skier in Grand County who is interested in learning the techniques of Guiding a visually-impaired skier. There is no obligation to Guide during the week, however, if you have this instruction, and would like to volunteer to guide for a day, you would be qualified.
